Death Toll from Israeli Airstrike on Southern Lebanese Town of Maarakeh Rises to Eight
Beirut, May 27 (QNA) - The death toll from the Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese town of Maarakeh rose to eight after the recovery of the bodies of three additional victims.
Field sources said the final toll from Tuesday's Israeli strike on Maarakeh increased after rescue teams completed efforts to clear the rubble of the targeted building and recovered three more bodies.
Israeli occupation forces also continued attacks on southern and eastern Lebanon on Wednesday. Israeli artillery shelled villages in the western sector of the Tyre district, targeting Majdal Zoun, Mansouri and Zebqin, while reconnaissance aircraft flew overhead. Warplanes also carried out strikes on the towns of Deir Qanoun Al Nahr, Srifa and Toura.
The Israeli military also renewed an urgent evacuation warning to residents of the city of Nabatieh.
The Israeli entity has continued its attacks on southern Lebanon despite a truce agreement that took effect on April 16 and was extended for a second time on May 15 for an additional 45 days, amid warnings of worsening security and humanitarian conditions in the region. (QNA)
