Doha, May 20 (QNA) - Qatar University (QU) organized a forum on the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace and its role in facilitating daily tasks and enhancing operational efficiency.
In its press release, QU said that the forum aligns with its strategic objectives to develop employee capabilities, promote continuous learning, and support institutional empowerment while keeping pace with emerging technological advancements.
In his opening remarks, QU Vice President for Strategy and Institutional Effectiveness, Dr. Muna Al Marzouqi emphasized the importance of developing professional skills in a rapidly evolving work environment shaped by advancements in AI technologies.
She noted that AI has become an essential component of daily professional practices across various sectors.
Addressing several challenges associated with the use of AI tools, Dr. Al Marzouqi stressed the importance of ethical and responsible use in accordance with QU's approved policies and guidelines.
In turn, Assistant Professor of Media at QU, Dr. Sarah Al Derham delivered a presentation on leveraging AI tools to improve work quality and support the preparation of projects and presentations.
She emphasized the importance of reviewing and verifying content accuracy while remaining mindful of potential biases.
Dr. Al Derham highlighted that AI serves as a supportive tool that enhances productivity but does not replace human expertise and professional judgment.
The forum witnessed strong engagement from attendees, who shared their experiences and perspectives on the impact of AI on their professional lives.
Participants expressed appreciation for learning about new tools and technologies that can help improve the efficiency and speed of daily tasks, develop content creation and presentation skills, and encourage dialogue around the key challenges associated with AI technologies and ways to address them.
The event reflects QU's commitment to fostering an innovative work environment that supports continuous professional development and contributes to building national capacities capable of adapting to digital transformation.
Efforts that align with the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly in the areas of human and economic development. (QNA)
