Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Strikes Turkiye's Malatya Province

Ankara, May 20 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday morning Malatya province, south of Turkiye.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) said in a statement that the quake occurred at a depth of 7.03آ kilometers. The earthquake's epicenter was the district of Battalgazi.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake.
On Feb. 6, southern Turkiye and northern Syria were struck by two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks. The disaster, centered in Kahramanmaras province, killed tens of thousands of people and caused widespread destruction in 11 provinces. (QNA)
