GCC Games Doha 2026: Qatar Extends Lead in Medal Standings as Kuwait Climbs to Fourth
Doha, May 20 (QNA) - Qatar strengthened its lead in the overall medal standings on Tuesday at the fourth GCC Games, Doha 2026, which continues through May 22, while Kuwait moved up to fourth place.
Qatar has now won a total of 119 medals, including 43 gold, 44 silver and 32 bronze medals.
The host nation added nine medals on Tuesday — three gold and six silver — across shooting, snooker and volleyball competitions.
Saudi Arabia remained in second place with 65 medals, including 26 gold, 20 silver and 19 bronze.
Bahrain ranked third with 61 medals, made up of 24 gold, 22 silver and 15 bronze medals.
Kuwait advanced to fourth place with 51 medals overall — 11 gold, 16 silver and 24 bronze — while Oman dropped to fifth despite increasing its tally to 29 medals, including 10 gold, four silver and 15 bronze.
The United Arab Emirates remained sixth with 46 medals, including eight gold, 13 silver and 25 bronze medals. (QNA)
