5.8-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes off Japan's Honshu Coast
Tokyo, May 02 (QNA) - A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the southern coast of western Honshu, Japan's main island, on Saturday.
According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences, the quake occurred at a depth of 59 kilometers.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage.
Japan lies along the Pacific "Ring of Fire," a region of intense seismic activity that stretches from Southeast Asia across the Pacific basin. (QNA)
