Mexico City, May 2 (QNA) - At least 11 people were killed and 31 others injured after a tourist bus overturned in the western Mexican state of Nayarit.
Authorities in Nayarit said the bus, which had departed from the neighboring state of Jalisco, veered off the highway before overturning near the town of Amatlan de Canas.
The state government said the passengers were en route to a recreational center within Nayarit. Emergency teams from both Nayarit and Jalisco were dispatched to the scene, where the road was closed to facilitate rescue operations and allow authorities to launch an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Fatal bus accidents are relatively common in parts of Latin America, particularly on highways in Mexico. (QNA)
