Gulf Games Doha 2026: Qatar's Padel Team Win against Kuwait's 2-1

Doha, May 18 (QNA) - Qatar's national padel team defeated their Kuwaiti counterpart with a score of 2-1, in their second match at the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, held at the Aspire Dome, Monday.

In the first match, the Qatari duo of Mashari Nawaf and Rashed Nawaf secured a straight-sets victory over the Kuwaiti duo of Yousef Saleh and Talal Al Qahtani, winning 6-2 and 6-0.

In the second match, Qatari duo, Mohammed Saadoun Al Kuwari and Hassan Walialso, won in straight sets against Kuwait's Abdulrahman Alawadhi and Fouad Behbehani, 7-6 and 6-1.

The third match, however, was won by the Kuwaiti duo of Ahmed Rabie and Hamoud Aljenaidel, who defeated Qatar's Mohammed Al Khanji and Rayan Aljufairi, 6-4 and 7-6.

Qatar's win against Kuwait today marks the second consecutive victory for Qatar's padel team in the tournament, following their 3-0 victory over Saudi Arabia.

Commenting on this, Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation board member, Khalid Al Khelaifi praised the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 padel competitions' high technical levels.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Khelaifi said that Gulf national teams are continuously improving and becoming increasingly competitive.

He also expressed his happiness with the Qatari team's second consecutive victory in the tournament, praising at the same time the Kuwaiti team's strong performance.

For his part, Qatari player, Mohammed Saadoun Al Kuwari expressed his delight with the win, commending the team spirit present and his teammates' efforts during today's matches against Kuwait and Saudi Arabia before that.

Al Kuwari said that Qatari players will give their utmost effort over the upcoming matches against Bahrain on Tuesday and the UAE on Wednesday, in the tournament's final day, in hopes of reaching the podium. (QNA)
