Gaza, May 17 (QNA) - A Palestinian was martyred Sunday and others were injured after an Israeli occupation airstrike targeted the southern Gaza Strip.
Palestinian medical sources reported that a Palestinian was martyred and others were injured following a strike by an Israeli drone targeting an area containing a market near the Rafah garage in central Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli occupation continued its ongoing violations of the ceasefire, as occupation artillery shelled the eastern areas of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip and the Bureij refugee camp east of the enclave, while Israeli naval boats opened fire along the coast of Gaza City.
Recent days have witnessed an escalation in Israeli military actions through a series of assassinations and bombardments across various areas of the Gaza Strip, targeting homes, civilian vehicles, and police posts. The attacks resulted in the martyrdom of several Palestinians, including children and women, the injury of dozens, and widespread destruction of property and residential homes.
The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 72,757 martyrs, while the number of injuries has reached 172,645. (QNA)
