Gulf Games Doha 2026: Qatar Maintains Lead in Medal Standings with 82 Medals After Day Four
Doha, May 15 (QNA) - Qatar continued to lead the overall medal standings at the 4th Gulf Games Doha 2026 following the conclusion of Friday's fourth day of competition, raising its tally to an impressive 82 medals.
The host nation's haul so far includes 30 gold medals, 26 silver medals, and 26 bronze medals, keeping Qatar comfortably at the top of the standings among the participating Gulf nations.
Qatar enjoyed another highly successful day on Friday, collecting a total of 28 medals across swimming, athletics, shooting, fencing, billiards, and equestrian events. The day's achievements included nine gold medals, eight silver medals, and 11 bronze medals.
Saudi Arabia occupies second place in the overall standings with 51 medals, including 20 gold, 15 silver, and 16 bronze medals, while Bahrain sits third with 41 medals comprising 16 gold, 17 silver, and eight bronze medals.
Oman moved into fourth place after increasing its tally to 20 medals, including seven golds, three silvers, and 10 bronzes.
UAE is fifth with 32 medals - six gold, nine silver, and 17 bronze - while Kuwait is sixth with the same overall total of 32 medals, consisting of four gold, 11 silver, and 17 bronze medals.
Competition at the Gulf Games Doha 2026 will continue on Saturday with events scheduled in athletics, shooting, snooker, padel, table tennis, volleyball, and handball. (QNA)
