Iraq PM Sworn in Following Parliament Confidence Vote

Baghdad, May 14 (QNA) - Prime Minister Ali Al Zaidi and 14 members of his cabinet were officially sworn in on Thursday before the Iraqi Council of Representatives, following a successful parliamentary vote of confidence.

During the session, which was attended by 270 members, the Council of Representatives granted confidence to the new government, approving the appointments of Ali Basim Mohammad Khudair as Minister of Oil, Mohammad Nouri as Minister of Industry, Ali Saad Wahib as Minister of Electricity, Abdul Karim Abtan as Minister of Education, and Mustafa Nizar Jumaa as Minister of Trade.

The parliament also confirmed Ali Abdul Hussein Aziz as Minister of Health, Sarwa Abdulwahid as Minister of Environment, Muthanna Ali Mahdi as Minister of Water Resources, Abdul Rahim Jassim as Minister of Agriculture, Khalid Shawani as Minister of Justice, Wahab Salman Mohammed as Minister of Transportation, Falih al Sari as Minister of Finance, Mustafa Sanad as Minister of Communications, and Fuad Hussein as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

A parliamentary source indicated that the remaining cabinet posts, along with the appointments for Vice Presidents and Deputy Prime Ministers, will be finalized following Eid al-Adha holiday. (QNA)
