Doha, May 11 (QNA) - Akram Afif cemented his status as Qatar's football king after claiming a record sixth Player of the Season award at the 2025–2026 Qatar Football Association Awards, extending his dominance with a third straight triumph.

Al Sadd SC and Qatar national team star beat fierce competition from Roger Guedes and Baghdad Bounedjah following another stellar campaign that saw Al Sadd lift the league title and Qatar secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, David Prats was named Coach of the Season after guiding Al Shamal SC to a historic runner-up finish and a first-ever qualification for the AFC Champions League Elite.

Roger Guedes finished as the league's top scorer with 21 goals for Al Rayyan SC, while Ayoub Al Amloud earned Best U23 Player honors after an outstanding season with Al Gharafa SC and the national team. (QNA)
