Doha, May 10 (QNA) - Qatar News Agency (QNA) launched Sunday its news services in three new languages – Russian, Hindi, and Urdu – using artificial intelligence (AI), as part of a development plan that the agency began years ago, bringing the total number of languages in which QNA provides its news services to 8 languages.

QNA currently provides its news services in five living languages: Arabic, English, French, German and Spanish.

HE Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi said that the launch of QNA’s news services in three new languages comes within the framework of its keenness to convey the voice of the State of Qatar to the world, and to promote the country as an important tourist, economic and sports destination, in addition to highlighting all the activities the country is witnessing on various political, economic, social, cultural and sports aspects; as well as keeping pace with developments in regional and international events.

His Excellency added that providing news services in new languages using AI represents a new step in QNA's journey to keep pace with technology and make the most of it, as QNA has been keen for some time to use the latest technologies in the field of AI to deliver its media message.

In this context, HE pointed out that QNA had won the ‘Innovation in the Use of Artificial Intelligence in News’ award on the sidelines of the Google Cloud Summit Doha 2025, in recognition of its pioneering efforts in employing artificial intelligence technologies within its news system. (QNA)
