ALECSO Takes Part in Scientific Chairs Forum in Rabat
Rabat, April 9 (QNA) - The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part in the third session of the Scientific Chairs Forum, which brings together chairs affiliated with partner organizations (UNESCO, ISESCO, and ALECSO). The forum was held at the National Training and Conference Center in Rabat.
The forum aims to strengthen communication among scientific chairs affiliated with international organizations. It facilitates the exchange of expertise and successful experiences across various fields of study. It also provides a platform for dialogue and for sharing perspectives on improving the performance of these chairs.
Participants discussed ways to enhance the chairs' contribution to development issues. They also explored how to strengthen their role in keeping pace with current knowledge and societal transformations.
In his address on behalf of ALECSO, Head of the National Commissions Department at ALECSO, Amin Dahmani emphasized the importance of scientific chairs. He described them as strategic platforms for knowledge production and for fostering cooperation between universities, research centers, and policymakers.
He also highlighted ALECSO's role in developing the network and expanding its scope. He pointed to achievements in capacity building, organizing scientific events, and disseminating knowledge.
Dahmani noted several challenges, including funding, coordination, and linking research to societal needs. He contrasted these with a future vision focused on strengthening international networking and partnerships. He also stressed support for innovation and young researchers, and linking research outputs to public policies to contribute to sustainable development in the Arab world.
Dahmani presented a paper in the second session entitled "The ALECSO-Affiliated Chairs Network: Reality, Achievements, and Development Prospects." In it, he reviewed the network's role in supporting Arab scientific research, building partnerships, and exchanging expertise. These efforts span education, culture, technology, and sustainable development.
He highlighted key achievements, including conferences, workshops, publications, and scientific initiatives. He also noted the network's expanding reach across the Arab world.
Dahmani addressed existing challenges and outlined a development vision. This vision focuses on expanding the network and strengthening joint projects and international partnerships. (QNA)
