Doha, April 05 (QNA) - Police SC won the Qatar Volleyball Cup (2025 - 2026) on Sunday for the 3rd time ever, after defeating Al Arabi by three sets to one.

HE First Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, along with President of the Qatar Volleyball Association Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari and Vice President of the Qatar Police Sports Federation Col. Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Thani awarded the Police SC team with the tournament's cup, gold medals, and a cash prize of QAR 600,000.

The runner-up, Al Arabi, received silver medals and a prize of QAR 400,000.

The intense match saw Police SC secure the 1st set (25-18), delivering an outstanding performance with powerful spikes at the net and strong defensive blocks against Al Arabi's attacks.

In the 2nd set, Al Arabi started with a clear determination to level the score and gradually gained points. However, the momentum did not last long, as Police SC clinched the set by four points (25-21).

Al Arabi regained form in the 3rd set, thanks to strong blocking at the net, preventing their opponent from scoring multiple points, and winning the set (25-21).

In the 4th set, Police SC imposed their dominance, with players showing determination to secure victory and the title, finishing the final set (25-21).

In press statements after the award ceremony, HE First Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana praised both teams' high-level performance in the final, with His Excellency congratulating Police SC on their well-deserved win and commending Al Arabi for their excellent performance and strong competitive spirit during the match.

HE the First Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee emphasized that volleyball is gaining increasing popularity and a large fan base in Qatar, noting that matches like this reflect the sport's ongoing development.

Heated matches and outstanding playing, as witnessed today, are always enjoyable, His Excellency added.

For his part, President of the Qatar Volleyball Association Ali Ghanim Al Kuwari expressed his satisfaction with the overall level of both the Qatar Volleyball Cup and the league, noting that the rising technical level with every passing season confirms that Qatari volleyball is moving in the right direction.

Predicting the winners of today's game was difficult, similar to when Al Arabi unpredictably won the Men's Volleyball League title despite Al Wakrah's prominent chances, Al Kuwari added.

The President of the Qatar Volleyball Association expected that HH the Amir Volleyball Cup would witness strong and exciting competitions, as the tournament reached the quarterfinals, with all teams having equal chances of winning the cup. (QNA)
