17 Killed in Armed Attack in Central Nigeria
Abuja, April 06 (QNA) - At least 17 people were killed in an armed attack in Benue State, central Nigeria.
Local authorities confirmed the attack in Mbalom village, Gwer East local government area, reporting fatalities and injuries.
The governor of Benue State Hyacinth Alia blamed the attack on "suspected armed herders."
Nigeria's central-western states are grappling with a multifaceted security crisis, with armed gangs raiding villages, kidnapping residents, and terrorizing the population. Armed groups operating in the northwest of the country are also working to expand their influence southward. (QNA)
