Korea's Food Exports Grow 4% in Q1 of 2026
Seoul, April 4 (QNA) - South Korea’s exports of agricultural and food products increased by 4% year-on-year during the first quarter of this year.
In data released today, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs stated that exports rose by about 4% in 2026, driven by strong demand for instant Ramen noodles and fruits. The value of exports reached $2.56 billion from January to March, compared to $2.45 billion during the same period last year.
The ministry noted that exports to the Middle East rose by 32.3% to $106.9 million during the period. Exports to China and North America also increased by 14.5% and 6.3%, reaching $568.9 million and $508.9 million, respectively. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN countries and the European Union rose by 2.2% and 4.9%, totaling $481.9 million and $233.4 million, respectively.
The ministry also confirmed that it will strengthen support for companies exporting to the Middle East to help reduce cost burdens and identify alternative markets. (QNA)
