German Minister of Foreign Affairs Calls for Stronger Cooperation with Morocco
Berlin, April 30 (QNA) - Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Johann Wadephul called for expanding his country's relations with Morocco, describing Rabat as an important bridge between Europe and Africa and a key partner for Germany.
In a statement, Wadephul emphasized that times of uncertainty and geopolitical tensions have prompted Berlin to strengthen and intensify its engagement with partners, noting that Morocco is Germany's second-largest trading partner in Africa and that economic ties between the two sides have additional growth potential.
He added that Morocco plays a leading role in Africa in the fields of solar and wind energy, reinforcing its position as a strategic partner in sustainable energy.
Wadephul began an official visit to Morocco on the occasion of the strategic dialogue between the two countries, which is held biennially at the level of foreign ministers and addresses a range of bilateral and international issues.
He noted that Germany and Morocco share the goal of promoting stability in the Sahel region, helping to address the root causes of crises and migration there. (QNA)
