Cabinet Holds Weekly Meeting
Doha, April 29 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired on Wednesday the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated the following:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet commended the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the GCC Consultative Summit, held on Tuesday in Jeddah, KSA, during which Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders and heads of delegations of the GCC countries held discussions that were focused on regional and international development.
On the other hand, the Cabinet commended the outcomes of the talks held between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Al Sharaa, during his working visit to Doha. The talks addressed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as key regional and international developments.
The Cabinet stressed that these talks contributed to strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries and advancing them to broader horizons across various fields, serving the common interests of both peoples.
The Cabinet then considered the topics on its agenda, as it was informed of the Shura Council's approval of a draft law amending some provisions of Law. No. 4 of 2008 regarding real estate leases.
Prepared by the Ministry of Municipality, this draft law aims to strengthen efforts to combat the phenomenon of illegal subdivisions in real estate units, reduce the negative effects of not registering lease contracts, as well as reduce the amount of fees imposed on registering these contracts, and accelerate the process of settling rental disputes.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law on exempting spare parts for civil aircraft used within airport premises from customs duties.
Prepared by the Ministry of Finance in coordination with the General Authority of Customs, this draft law aims to exempt spare parts for civil aircraft used within airport premises from customs duties, in implementation of relevant international and regional obligations, and in support of the civil aviation sector in line with the Authority's strategy to develop the customs system and facilitate procedures.
The Cabinet decided to approve the draft cooperation program between the Ministry of Justice of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Morocco for the period of 2026-2027, the draft master agreement between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council, and the draft Memorandum of Understanding on judicial assistance for victims of human trafficking between the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking and the Qatar Lawyers Association.
The Cabinet concluded its meeting by reviewing the two annual reports on the results of the work of the Standing Population Committee, and taking the appropriate decision in their regard. (QNA)
