Google Launches New Repository of Updates on AI Agents Development
Washington, April 23 (QNA) - Google unveiled a new repository of updates for its Workspace platform, focusing on the development of AI agents, during the Google Cloud Next 2026 conference.
The company introduced a new system called Workspace Intelligence, an intelligent platform that connects data and work context across Google Workspace applications such as Docs, Slides, and Gmail, with the aim of reducing time spent navigating between tools and searching within messages and files.
The system relies on understanding the relationships between content, in addition to understanding the nature of projects and cooperation within institutions, which allows tasks to be carried out automatically without waiting for direct orders.
Google explained that these updates aim to address information overload within work environments by automating the tasks themselves, rather than simply responding to commands.
The Gemini model forms the core engine of these capabilities, enabling the execution of direct tasks through simple commands, without manual intervention, as well as the transformation of initial ideas into professional drafts or complete presentations, while adhering to the company’s style and visual identity.
In a related context, Google expanded its AI Overviews feature to include Gmail and Drive, enabling the extraction of focused information from messages and files by asking direct questions, instead of traditional searching.
The updates also include a "Sheets canvas" feature that allows the creation of interactive applications and dashboards based on data, including data stored in platforms such as Salesforce and HubSpot.
Google is introducing Skills tools to build automated tasks, such as reviewing and comparing invoices and detecting any discrepancies, while the Google Vids video creation application has gained a "digital avatar" feature to produce customized videos that support 24 languages.
The company has expanded the "Take notes for me" note-taking feature in Google Meet to include note-taking and task assignment in meetings held via platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. (QNA)
