Doha, April 21 (QNA) - HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a phone call on Tuesday from HE Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi.

Discussions addressed bilateral cooperation and ways to support and further develop it. The two sides also reviewed regional and international developments, particularly the ongoing escalation and its impact on energy markets and supply chains, and stressed the importance of maintaining stable energy flows.

The Prime Minister of Japan condemned the Iranian attacks on Qatar, praising the State's successful management of the crisis and commending its efforts to ensure the safety and security of Japanese nationals, as well as its role in promoting peace and stability in the region.

For his part, HH the Amir expressed his thanks and appreciation to Japan, affirming the State's commitment to the well-being of all residents within its territory and highlighting the longstanding strategic relations between the two countries.

Both sides also affirmed their support for the mediation efforts undertaken by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and underscored the importance of reaching a comprehensive agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, thereby enhancing energy security, stabilizing markets, and supporting regional stability and the global economy.
