6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Coast of Indonesia's Timor Island
Jakarta, April 21 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Timor Island in Indonesia Tuesday.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 31 km, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
No tsunami warnings were issued.
Indonesia lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where numerous tectonic plates meet, resulting in frequent volcanic and seismic activity. (QNA)
