Abu Dhabi, April 15 (QNA) - The United Arab Emirates has summoned Iraq's charge d'affaires in Abu Dhabi and delivered a formal protest note over "continued attacks originating from Iraqi territory".
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi, where officials said they strongly condemned and rejected the incidents, according to the Emirates News Agency WAM.
The UAE Foreign Ministry said it informed Omar Abdulmajid Al Obaidi that it denounces "repeated attacks targeting vital infrastructure in Gulf Cooperation Council states".
It said the incidents constitute a violation of sovereignty and airspace, as well as international law and the UN Charter.
The protest note was delivered by Ahmed Juma Al Marashda, who reiterated the UAE's position that such actions threaten regional stability and undermine international efforts to maintain security.
The ministry also said it considered the attacks to be linked to ongoing regional tensions involving Iran and affiliated groups, though it did not provide specific evidence in its statement.
It called on the government of Iraq to take immediate and effective steps to prevent any hostile activity originating from its territory, stressing the need for compliance with international obligations. (QNA)
