Doha, April 12 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), represented by the Private Schools and Kindergartens Department - which handles the licensing of private schools, announced the launch of the second edition for 2026 of the guide on the rules and procedures for accepting and registering students in private schools and kindergartens.
This came during a press conference held by MOEHE, with the attendance of HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, and Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs at MOEHE, Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama, in addition to a number of the ministry's officials, license holders, and directors of private schools and schools affiliated with embassies.
In his speech, HE Dr. Al Nuaimi said that the education sector in the State of Qatar is witnessing continuous development, which is clearly evident in the quality of educational services and the efficiency of the systems and procedures associated with them, in accordance with best practices, and in a way that meets the aspirations of the country and its development goals.
This is accompanied by a steady increase in the number of students in schools, universities and various educational institutions, he added.
His Excellency pointed out that the accuracy and validity of data is an essential element in the success of the educational system, as organizational and planning decisions are based on it, and it contributes to managing the capacity of schools, facilitating admission and transfer procedures, and ensuring that appropriate support is provided to students according to their educational needs.
For her part, Directorآ of MOEHE's Private Schools and Kindergartens Department, Dr. Rania Yousry Mohamed, gave a detailed presentation on the issuance of the second guide on the rules and procedures for accepting and registering students in private schools and kindergartens for the year 2026, which constitutes a comprehensive regulatory framework and an approved reference for all private schools in the State of Qatar.
She stressed that this guide represents a strategic step towards unifying and clarifying procedures, ensuring equal opportunities for students, and facilitating the registration and transfer process in accordance with approved laws and regulations.
She also said that the guide precisely defines the age of admission for each educational stage, clarifies the required documents, and the mechanisms for registration, transfer and cancellation, in addition to handling exceptional cases according to clear controls, adding that it includes approved tables for equivalence of grades between different educational curricula.
In regard to schools affiliated with embassies, Dr. Rania confirmed that the guide took into account the privacy of these schools, while ensuring their commitment to the general regulatory framework of the country, in order to achieve a balance between preserving their educational identity and applying the approved standards of quality and discipline, while guaranteeing the rights of students and the regularity of their educational path at the same time.
In turn, the Academic Advisor at the office of HE Undersecretary of MOEHE, Jassim Al Kuwari, presented the mandatory education enrollment platform, as part of the ministry's efforts to develop educational services and facilitate student registration procedures at various educational levels.
He indicated that the launch of this platform comes in commitment to implementing Law No. 25 of 2001 on Mandatory Education, which guarantees the right of every child to education, and includes all citizens and residents in the State of Qatar.
He pointed out that the platform aims to simplify and unify registration procedures through an integrated electronic system that takes into account the needs of different groups, noting that this step comes within the plans for digital transformation and the development of services provided to the public, which contributes to raising the efficiency of procedures, saving time and effort for parents and guardians, and ensuring that all students have access to educational opportunities according to the highest standards of quality and organization.
