Egyptian Foreign Minister Discusses Sudan Situation with EU Envoy
Cairo, April 12 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed the latest developments in the Horn of Africa with the European Union's Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Annette Weber during a phone call today. They emphasized the need to preserve Sudan's unity and territorial integrity.
During the call, the two sides discussed preparations for the Berlin Ministerial Conference on Sudan, scheduled for April 15. They stressed the importance of supporting security, stability, and development in the region, rejecting the establishment of any parallel entities in Sudan, and the necessity of launching a purely Sudanese-owned political process to end the conflict.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance of reaching a humanitarian truce as a preliminary step towards a sustainable ceasefire, which would allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid and alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people. (QNA)
