Doha, April 10 (QNA) - Police and Al Arabi teams have qualified for the semifinals of the 47th HH the Amir Cup Volleyball Championship after defeating Al Sadd and Al Gharafa 3-1 and 3-0 respectively in the two matches held Thursday at the Aspire Women's Hall, as part of the quarterfinals of the tournament.

In the first match, Police defeated Al Sadd 3-1 with scores of 25-20, 23-25, 26-24, and 25-19.

In the second match, Al Arabi defeated Al Gharafa 3-0 with scores of 25-15, 30-28, and 25-22.

The two teams completed the lineup for the semifinals of the single-elimination tournament, after Qatar and Al Wakrah secured their places with identical 3-0 victories over Al Rayyan and Al Ahli, respectively, in yesterday's matches.

The semifinals are scheduled to begin next Sunday with two matches: Qatar SC vs. Al Arabi and Police vs. Al Wakrah.

The semifinals are expected to be highly competitive and exciting due to the high level of the qualified teams and the single-elimination format, which fosters a spirit of challenge and determination among the players.

Eight teams qualified for the quarterfinals, four of which advanced directly – the top four teams from the general volleyball league: Al Arabi, Al Wakrah, Al Shorta, and Al Rayyan – while Qatar SC, Al Gharafa, Al Sadd, and Al Ahli completed the lineup through the qualifying rounds.

Mohammed Salem Al Kuwari, a member of the Qatar Volleyball Association's board of directors, stated that the quarterfinals witnessed fierce competition and praised the overall high standard of the tournament.

Al Kuwari added in press statements that the federation worked to provide an ideal environment for the tournament, both technically and organizationally, in order to achieve the best experience for the participating teams and fans, noting that holding all matches in one hall contributes to raising the level of focus and organization, and gives the tournament a distinctive character.
