Bank of Korea Holds Rates Steady
Seoul, April 10 (QNA) - South Korea’s central bank decided today to keep its key interest rate unchanged for the seventh consecutive time.
The Monetary Policy Board of the Bank of Korea maintained the benchmark interest rate at 2.5% during its latest rate-setting meeting in Seoul.
This marks the seventh consecutive decision by the central bank to hold rates steady, despite the bank's ongoing monetary easing cycle.
The Bank of Korea began easing monetary policy in October 2024, cutting the base rate by 100 basis points from 3.5% to support economic growth, but has kept it unchanged since July 2025. (QNA)
