Egyptian, Iraqi Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Military Escalation via Telephone
Cairo, March 07 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, discussed Saturday via phone the latest developments regarding the "dangerous military escalation" currently unfolding across the Middle East.
During the call, Abdelatty warned that the continuation of this escalatory approach threatens regional peace and security and carries grave and unforeseen consequences. He underscored the vital importance of prioritizing diplomatic tracks to contain the situation and spare the region the woes of a widening conflict.
The two ministers exchanged views on the attacks that have targeted Iraqi territory, as well as several Gulf states and Arab nations.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country's full solidarity with Iraq and all Arab nations in the face of these attacks. He condemned any infringement upon the sovereignty and stability of Iraq and its sister nations, emphasizing Egypt's categorical rejection of any justifications or pretexts aimed at legitimizing these assaults.
