Kuwaiti Oil Tanker Attacked off Dubai; No Injuries Reported
Kuwait, March 31 (QNA) - A Kuwaiti supertanker was targeted in an Iranian attack while anchored off Dubai port in the United Arab Emirates, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced. No casualties were reported.
The KPC stated that Al Salmi, a very large crude carrier, was fully loaded at the time of the direct strike. The assault caused structural damage to the vessel's hull and ignited a fire on board, raising concerns over a potential oil spill in the surrounding waters.
Emergency teams are currently working to contain the blaze in coordination with local authorities. While the KPC confirmed all crew members are safe, officials are conducting a detailed damage assessment and implementing protocols to mitigate environmental risks. (QNA)
