Egypt and Russia Talk Regional and Int'l Developments, Bilateral Cooperation
Cairo, March 31 (QNA) - Egypt and Russia have discussed regional and international developments, as well as ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke by phone on Tuesday with President Vladimir Putin to review recent regional tensions, the global impact of the Ukraine war, and prospects for Middle East peace.
A key focus of the call was the economic and security impact of the Russia-Ukraine war. Both presidents discussed the broader consequences of the conflict, particularly its effects on global markets and regional stability.
They also addressed the situation in the Middle East, stressing the importance of restoring stability amid growing economic pressures linked to international crises.
On the Israeli-Palestinian issue, both leaders reaffirmed support for renewed political efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive settlement. They emphasized the need to revive a peace process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international resolutions and the two-state solution.
The two sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination on key regional and international issues, underlining what they described as the importance of sustained dialogue in addressing shared challenges. (QNA)
