Beirut, March 3 (QNA) - Three people were killed and 16 others injured in an initial toll from Israeli shelling Tuesday evening on several towns in southern Lebanon.

Field sources reported that two people were killed and two others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a motorcycle in the town of Qabrikha, while a third person was killed in an airstrike on a house in the town of Sarafand.

The sources also reported that 14 people were wounded in another airstrike on the town of Daoudieh.

They noted that Israeli forces shelled the towns of Khiam, Ras Al Naqoura, and the outskirts of Labouneh, while warplanes launched airstrikes targeting the town of Nabatieh Al Fouqa, the Bustan Al Kabir neighborhood, Mayfadoun, Siksikieh, and Anqoun.

For its part, the Lebanese government's Disaster Management Unit announced Tuesday evening that the death toll from the Israeli attacks on the country since the start of the aggression at dawn yesterday (Monday) has risen to 40, with 246 wounded.

The unit also indicated that the total number of displaced persons has reached 50,064. (QNA)
