S. Korea Voices Grave Concern Over Developments in the Middle East
Seoul, March 03 (QNA) - South Korea has expressed grave concern over the escalating situation in the Middle East.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said the government is closely monitoring developments between the United States, Israel and Iran, voicing deep concern over the unfolding tensions.
The ministry affirmed that Seoul is undertaking multifaceted measures from an economic security perspective, including ensuring the safety of South Korean nationals in the region and safeguarding stable energy supplies.
It also reaffirmed South Korea's strong commitment to the international non-proliferation regime, citing its continued engagement in efforts related to the North Korean nuclear issue.
"Against this backdrop, we have been actively participating in the international community's efforts to address the Iranian nuclear issue," the statement said, expressing hope that the current tensions would be resolved in line with the universal values and principles upheld by the international community.
The ministry further voiced hope that dialogue would be restored and that peace and security in the region would be swiftly achieved through negotiations. (QNA)
