OIC Broadcasting and Television Union Marks Land Day, Confirms Legitimate Rights of Palestinians
Jeddah, March 29 (QNA) - The Union of Broadcasting and Television Organizations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) affirmed its full support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and its solidarity with their just cause, believing in the role of responsible media in promoting awareness and upholding the values of justice and equity.
In a statement to mark Land Day, which falls on March 30, the Union said this day carries deep significance reflecting the collective Palestinian consciousness that led a unified stance, embodying the unity of popular will in defending the land and identity against the arrogance and extortion of the Israeli settler.
It pointed out that adhering to rights is not a choice but an irreversible path, and this day also enshrines a firmly established truth: that the land represents the essence of national existence, and defending it constitutes a meeting point for all Palestinians, regardless of their locations.
The Union added that Land Day will remain a renewed covenant, upheld generation after generation, until Jerusalem returns free and Arab, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people are fully restored.
It reiterated its commitment to continuing its efforts in supporting professional media narratives, highlighting humanitarian issues, in a way that serves the causes of the nation and reflects its voice in international forums.
Palestinians commemorate Land Day every year on March 30, remembering the general strike and clashes that broke out on this day in 1976 between residents of several towns and villages within the 1948 territories and Israeli forces. (QNA)
