Beirut, March 26 (QNA) - President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun met on Thursday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, currently visiting Beirut, to discuss Egypt's efforts to halt the Israeli aggression against Lebanon.

In remarks following the meeting, Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Lebanon under the current circumstances and its strong condemnation of the daily Israeli violations affecting Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He noted that Egypt is intensifying efforts with various regional and international parties, including the United States and France, to de-escalate tensions and halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

He stressed Egypt's complete rejection of any ground incursions and Israeli violations that contravene international law, underscoring the importance of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and ensuring a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

Egyptian Foreign Minister also reaffirmed Egypt's readiness to meet Lebanon's needs, noting that shipments of humanitarian, medical, and food aid have been dispatched to support the Lebanese people, particularly the displaced.

He added that the internal displacement crisis is a matter of serious concern. Still, he expressed confidence in the resilience of the Lebanese people and their ability to preserve civil peace in the face of challenges. (QNA)
