Football: Al-Arabi, Muaither Advance to QSL Cup Semis

Doha, March 26 (QNA) - Al-Arabi and Muaither qualified for the semifinals of the QSL Cup for the 2025-2026 season today after defeating Al-Waab and Al-Markhiya in the quarterfinals, held at Al Khor Stadium and Suheim bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar SC.

Al-Arabi secured qualification with a 3-1 win over Al-Waab. Pablo Sarabia scored twice in the 89th and 90+12th minutes, while Ahmed Abdelhai added an own goal in the 28th minute. Osinio Cesar scored Al-Waab's goal in the 13th minute.

Muaither also advanced after defeating Al-Markhiya 3-2. Marc Saiz scored a brace in the 73rd and 81st minutes, and Albert Roque added a goal in the 90+3rd minute. Al-Markhiya's goals were scored by Suhail Bashir in the 22nd minute and Lucas Vermo in the 55th minute.

he semifinals will be held at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium at Al Duhail Club and Thani bin Jassim Stadium at Al Gharafa Club next Saturday and Sunday. Al Rayyan will face Umm Salal in the first match, while Muaither will take on Al-Arabi in the second semifinal.

It is worth noting that Al Duhail are the defending champions of the 2024-2025 edition. (QNA)
