Israeli Occupation Intensifies Air Raids and Artillery Shelling in Southern Lebanon
Beirut, March 24 (QNA) - Israeli occupation intensified its air strikes and artillery shelling across southern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to local media reports.
The National News Agency said Israeli warplanes carried out a series of raids targeting multiple areas, including locations near the city of Tyre and nearby coastal areas further north. Among the sites hit were the outskirts of Tayr Debba and the coastal town of Adloun.
In one incident, a drone strike targeted a motorcycle on a road in the Burj Al Shamali area, killing a Palestinian national, the report added.
Elsewhere in the south, artillery shelling and what were described as phosphorus munitions struck the Hamoul area near Naqoura, raising concerns about the humanitarian and environmental impact of the strikes.
Additional air strikes were reported between the towns of Majdal Zoun and Deir Intar, as well as in the vicinity of Abu Al Aswad and the outskirts of Kharayeb. The towns of Baraachit and Beit Yahoun also came under heavy artillery fire.
Beyond the south, Israeli warplanes carried out strikes in the northern Bekaa region. Targets included the city of Hermel, near the Syrian border, and the outskirts of Shmustar in Baalbek.
The escalation comes amid broader regional instability, with cross-border exchanges increasing in frequency and intensity in recent weeks. (QNA)
