Kuwait, March 02 (QNA) - The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry confirmed Monday that most of the drones approaching the country by sea near the areas of Rumaithiya and Salwa were intercepted, with no injuries recorded.
Director General of the Civil Defense, Brigadier General Mohammed Al Mansouri, said in a statement that personnel of Kuwait's Air Defense Force intercepted a number of hostile aerial targets at dawn today with efficiency and capability. He affirmed that the situation in the country is stable and that the relevant authorities are monitoring developments around the clock within an integrated operational framework.
He added that the General Directorate of Civil Defense received several reports of explosions being heard in some areas, explaining that the sounds were the result of interception operations carried out in the air. He noted that Air Force personnel are conducting continuous monitoring and tracking of aerial targets before they enter the country's airspace.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Kuwait had announced that the Air Defense Force intercepted a number of hostile aerial targets at dawn, after detecting and engaging them within the central operations zone of the country. (QNA)
