Cairo, March 18 (QNA) - The Arab Parliament reiterated its strong condemnation of the continued and repeated Iranian attacks targeting a number of Arab countries, stressing that the attacks disregard all rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, and constitute a serious and direct threat to peace and security at the regional and international levels.

In a statement on Wednesday, Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi stressed that targeting residential areas, civilian facilities, and vital infrastructure, and the resulting civilian casualties, not only constitutes an attack on the sovereignty of Arab states, but also represents a serious violation of international humanitarian law and a direct threat to the lives of civilians.

He emphasized that the aggression constitutes a direct and comprehensive threat to Arab national security, and will only bring more chaos and instability to the region and push it towards the brink of explosion. He stressed that the security of Arab countries is indivisible, and that any attack on an Arab country is an attack on the entire Arab nation, and that Arab countries are not an arena for settling scores and do not accept the threat to the lives of their citizens under any pretext or justification.

Al Yamahi urged Iran to immediately cease all its hostile actions against Arab states, which were not party to any conflict, stressing the need to respect their sovereignty and adhere to the rules of good neighborliness.

He commended the vigilance and efficiency of the military forces in the Arab countries that are subjected to attacks, and their professional management in addressing them, which reflects a high level of readiness and deterrent capability in protecting their territories and preserving their resources. He reiterated the Arab Parliament's full and absolute support for all legitimate these countries may take to preserve their security and sovereignty and to address these attacks, in accordance with their inherent right to self-defense.
