Cairo, March 17 (QNA) - The Arab League and China on Tuesday stressed the criticality of respecting the security and sovereignty of the Gulf nations' territories and never targeting them, as this would lead to severe damages, whether in economic or humanitarian terms, as well as compromise the region's stability.

This came during a meeting held at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo between Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun during his tour of the Middle East region.

During the meeting, Jun said his tour aims to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East region, emphasizing that China would work to ramp up efforts and mediation to calm the situation in the region. (QNA)
