Qatar Stock Exchange Index Opens 0.66 Percent Lower
Doha, March 16 (QNA) - The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index began Monday's trading with a 0.66 percent decline, losing 68.71 points to drop to the 10,392 level compared to the last closing session, pressured by five sectors.
QSE figures showed a positive performance for the real estate sector at 0.53 percent and the insurance sector at 0.15 percent; conversely, performance was negative for the telecommunicationsآ sector at 0.25 percent, the transport sector at 0.31 percent, the consumer goods and services sector at 0.36 percent, the industrial sector at 0.40 percent, and the banks and financial services sector at 0.63 percent.
By 10:00 AM, the Qatar Stock Exchange recorded trading valued at QR 1.199 billion, distributed across 32.883 million shares through the execution of 4,670 transactions.
The aforementioned increase in trading value is attributed to transactions in the debt instruments market totaling QR 1.125 billion. (QNA)
