Israeli Occupation Continues Shutting Down Al-Aqsa for 16th Consecutive Day
Occupied Jerusalem, March 15 (QNA) - The Israeli occupation authorities keep shutting down Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and are denying worshipers access to the mosque for the 16th day in a row, creating pretenses that this closure is due to the security conditions resulting from the war in Iran.
A statement by the Jerusalem Governorate indicated that the Israeli occupation prevents worshipers from entering the mosque, citing the declaration of an emergency amid the massive deployment of Israeli soldiers to the perimeter of the mosque and the Old City gates, as well as blocking Palestinians from flocking to its compound.
For the first time since the occupation of Al-Aqsa in 1967, Taraweeh and Itikaf prayers are banned during the last ten days of Ramadan, concomitantly with the heavy Israeli military posture at the perimeter of the mosque, along with the consistent shutting down of commercial shops in the Old City markets.
