22 Al Shabaab Militants Killed in Central, Southern Somalia
Mogadishu, March 14 (QNA) - Twenty-two members of the Al Qaeda- linked Al Shabaab militant group, were killed in two military operations in southern and central Somalia.
The Somali National News Agency (SONNA) reported that security forces, in cooperation with international partners, conducted an operation in the Dumay area of Mudug region in central Somalia, resulting in the deaths of 15 Al Shabaab militants.
The agency added that a second operation took place in the Mahas area of Hiran region in southern Somalia, killing seven Al Shabaab militants.
Somali government forces have been fighting armed groups for more than 10 years. These groups have carried out numerous attacks that have killed hundreds of civilians and security personnel. Their attacks frequently target government facilities and hotels in the capital, Mogadishu. (QNA)
