German Chancellor Calls for Plan to End War with Iran, Warns of Escalation
Berlin, March 13 (QNA) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has called for a plan to end the war with Iran, warning of a dangerous escalation in the region.
In a press statement, the German Chancellor said the world is witnessing a dangerous escalation, noting that Iran is carrying out what he described as "indiscriminate" attacks on countries in the region.
He added that it would be a mistake to ease sanctions on Russia for any reason, after the United States granted countries a 30-day waiver to purchase sanctioned Russian oil and petroleum products stuck at sea.
The German Chancellor explained that using oil reserves would help control prices to some extent.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz had warned days earlier that a prolonged war on Iran could bring uncontrollable consequences in the Middle East and beyond, including Europe, noting that a prolonged war would not be in Europe's interest. (QNA)
