New York, March 12 (QNA) - Major US stock indices opened lower Thursday on Wall Street.

                The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 174.7 points, or 0.37 percent, to 47,242.52 at the open.

                The S&P 500 lost 34.9 points, or 0.52 percent, to 6,740.88.

                The Nasdaq Composite dropped 189.5 points, or 0.83 percent, to 22,526.585. (QNA)
