Minister of Interior Discusses Further Cooperation with GCC Counterparts

Doha, March 12 (QNA) - HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, received several phone calls from Their Highnesses and Excellencies interior ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, following the Iranian aggression against Qatar and other regional countries and the related developments.

The calls focused on strengthening joint security coordination and unifying positions and efforts to confront any threat to the security and stability of the Gulf states, based on the principle of Gulf security unity and the need to protect the region.

The calls came from HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan; HE Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain Gen. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa; HRH Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; HE Minister of Interior of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi; and HE First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al Sabah.

HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to interior ministers of the GCC states for their fraternal sentiments, praising the high level of coordination and close cooperation among security agencies in the council countries. (QNA)
