Doha, March 12 (QNA) - HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received on Thursday a phone call from HE President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

At the outset of the call, HE the German President checked on the situation in the State of Qatar following the severe Iranian aggression.

His Excellency expressed Germany's solidarity with the State of Qatar and its condemnation of such acts.

His Excellency also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for HH the Amir for the State of Qatar's attentive care towards Germans residing in the State and for ensuring their safety.

The call furthermore discussed the developments in the region.

The two sides affirmed the importance of reducing tensions and de-escalating the situation, as well as intensifying international efforts to handle the crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means to strengthen regional and international security and stability. (QNA)
