Arab Parliament Welcomes UN Security Council Resolution Condemning Iranian Attacks on GCC States and Jordan
Cairo, March 12 (QNA) - The Arab Parliament welcomed adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2817, which condemns Iranian attacks targeting the territories of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and Jordan, considering it a clear international stance rejecting any hostile acts that undermine the sovereignty, security, or stability of Arab countries.
President of the Arab Parliament, Mohamed Al Yammahi, said in a statement that targeting civilian facilities and residential areas constitutes a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, posing a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
He emphasized that security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Arab states are red lines that cannot be compromised or taken lightly, reiterating the parliament's full solidarity with the Arab countries targeted by these attacks and its support for all measures they take to protect their security and stability in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
The statement called on the international community to maintain a firm stance against this aggression and to halt any actions that could destabilize the region or endanger nations, stressing the importance of adhering to the principles of good neighborliness and international law.
It also highlighted that the adoption of this resolution represents a key step toward enhancing security and stability in the region, sending a clear message of international rejection of any hostile acts against Arab states or threats to the safety of their nations. (QNA)
