Doha, March 11 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call from HE the UK Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper.

During the call, the two sides discussed developments in the ongoing military escalation in the region and its serious repercussions on regional and international security and stability, as well as ways to resolve all disputes through peaceful means.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed Qatar's condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Qatari territory, stressing that they cannot be accepted under any justification or pretext. In this context, he noted that the State of Qatar has consistently sought to distance itself from regional conflicts and has worked to facilitate dialogue between the Iranian side and the international community.

His Excellency also warned of the consequences of the irresponsible targeting of vital infrastructure, particularly facilities related to water, food, and energy, stressing that such actions represent dangerous precedents that could expose the peoples of the region to multiple risks. He further emphasized the need for an immediate halt to any escalatory actions, a return to the negotiating table, the prioritization of reason and wisdom, and efforts to contain the crisis in a manner that preserves the region's security.

For her part, HE the UK Foreign Secretary called for de-escalation, the exercise of restraint, and a return to negotiations and diplomatic means to avoid further chaos. (QNA)
