Beijing, March 11 (QNA) - China has affirmed its commitment to strengthening communication with all parties involved in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and to playing a constructive role in easing tensions, containing escalation, and supporting peace efforts.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a regular press conference on Wednesday that China continues to maintain communication with various parties concerned with the situation in Iran, including those directly involved in the conflict, with the aim of contributing to reducing tensions and working towards restoring peace.

He explained that since the outbreak of the conflict, China has called for a ceasefire, a return to dialogue and negotiations, and adherence to political solutions.

He added that the China's special envoy for Middle East affairs is currently conducting shuttle diplomacy in several countries in the region as part of efforts to de-escalate the situation.

The spokesperson noted that China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a friend of the Middle East countries, will continue to support international efforts aimed at achieving peace and advocate for fairness and justice in addressing the region's issues. (QNA)
