Tunis, March 01 (QNA) - Tunisia has affirmed its absolute rejection of any targeting of the territories of sisterly Arab nations, expressing its full solidarity with the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Republic of Iraq.

In a statement released Sunday, the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Tunisia is following with "grave concern" the dangerous military escalation in the region.

The ministry warned of the resulting risks of expanding the scope of conflict and sliding into chaos, as well as the serious threat this poses to regional and international peace and security.

Tunisia called on all parties to immediately cease military operations, exercise wisdom, and return to the negotiating table to avoid further escalation, prevent the shedding of innocent blood, and preserve the resources of the region's peoples. In this context, the statement stressed the need for the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to maintain international peace and security. (QNA)
