Muscat, March 1 (QNA) - Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi discussed efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region during a telephone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi.

According to Oman news agency, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his country's appreciation for the Sultanate of Oman's constructive role and its ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at defusing the current crisis and returning to the path of dialogue and negotiation. He considered the Israeli-American attack on his country to be a cause of the escalation of tensions in the region, and affirmed Iran's openness to any serious efforts that contribute to halting the escalation and restoring stability.

For his part, the Omani Foreign Minister affirmed his country's continued call for a ceasefire and a return to dialogue and negotiation to resolve the ongoing conflict diplomatically in a way that achieves the legitimate demands of all parties. He called on the Iranian side to exercise restraint and avoid anything that could undermine or disrupt good neighborly relations. (QNA)
